A Cinematic Curtain Call at the La Cinémathèque française Festival!

The curtains have closed on the La Cinémathèque française Festival, leaving us in awe of its grandeur. This year’s event was nothing short of spectacular, showcasing a treasury of about a hundred magnificently restored films from across the globe. A perfect blend of nostalgia and discovery on the big screen!

This 11th edition shone a special spotlight on Peter Weir, the Australian filmmaking maestro. His presence elevated the event, offering rare insights into his illustrious career, which was celebrated through a dedicated mini-retrospective.

Among the highlights was our very own Rodolphe Bertrand, head of digital restoration at TransPerfect Media, who captivated attendees with a deep dive into AI’s transformative role in film restoration. Similarly, the unveiling of “Vent Debout,” presented in collaboration with Cinémathèque française and Hiventy, demonstrated the pinnacle of restoration artistry, breathing new life into this classic cinematic treasure.
We’re proud to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Cinémathèque française team. It’s an honour to be associated with such a prestigious institution, and we eagerly anticipate future collaborations.
